John identified himself five times by name in the Book of Revelation, so by you logic are we to assume that he was "promoting himself"? Since Paul had no "hesitancy to identify himself" would you apply the same logic to him?

Sorry, but your reasoning here does not stand up to biblical scrutiny. It's a case of the Bible versus your own tradition.
